What kind of glass needs to be tinted?
Niagara Tinting provides two main categories of service. Automotive tinting and building-glass tinting require different products, information, scheduling and contact methods.

In the window-film industry, residential, commercial and industrial building windows are collectively called flat glass.

Email is preferred for flat-glass projects. Measurements, overview photographs and the purpose of the film make the project easier to understand and price.

A standard tinting price assumes that the vehicle glass is clear and does not have aftermarket film that must first be removed.
Removing old, damaged or unwanted film adds time, labour and risk. A door window can often be stripped and retinted without a complicated inspection, but a back window is different.
Old film on a back window can be difficult to remove without affecting the defroster lines. I generally need to inspect the vehicle first, and the removal process commonly requires the vehicle to remain overnight.
No full-windshield tinting
Niagara Tinting does not apply film to an entire windshield. Full-windshield tint creates visibility and legal concerns and introduces a risk of water entering the dashboard and damaging electrical components during installation.
I do not recommend that customers have this service performed elsewhere.
A traditional sun strip across the top of the windshield is still available, subject to the condition and design of the windshield.

The right architectural film depends on the type of glass, desired appearance and the problem the customer wants to address.
Heat and Glare
Solar-control films can reduce uncomfortable heat and glare in homes, offices, storefronts, sunrooms and other occupied spaces.
Privacy and Appearance
Reflective films can provide daytime privacy under suitable lighting conditions. Frosted white matte film provides a different type of semi-private decorative appearance.
UV and Specialty Needs
Architectural film can help reduce UV exposure and fading. Selected security and specialty products are also available when appropriate for the application.
Privacy depends on lighting. Reflective film generally provides its strongest privacy from the brighter side of the glass. At night, when the interior is brighter than outdoors, that privacy effect can reverse. The limitations should be understood before choosing a film.

My goal is not simply to sell the darkest or most expensive film. It is to explain the available choices and recommend a practical option for the glass, the intended result and the customer’s expectations.

Customers are welcome to stop in during business hours. If I am present, someone standing in my office naturally receives immediate attention.
Because I work alone, I may be away performing an installation or handling an errand. Call first if you are making a special trip and want to confirm that I am there.
